Big Life Update - Baby on the Way

I haven't actually mentioned here that my wife is pregnant. We're going to have a son - in about a week and a half (or less). It looks like if Noah (that's his name) by April 6th, she will be induced.

It's a very exciting time in our lives. Here's an image of Ashlee at a marriage retreat in the fall and then another from today - at about 39 weeks! Our lives are about to be turned upside down!

Yay, congrats to you two as you get ever nearer to having the little one pop out. Enjoy your last few days of being right-side up. :-)

Hopefully, your life won't be turned upside down. Jenn and I have had our baby boy for about a month now, and I can see how easy it could be for a family to become child-centered and revolutionized by this new addition to the family. But it doesn't have to be that way (and shouldn't be, IMHO).

If you obey God and seek the counsel of other godly parents (which I am confident that you will), your new world will be better because of this new and amazing blessing. You'll sleep less and have new (sometimes urgent) responsibilities, but I think the foundation of life remains the same.

Anyways, congratulations! We are looking forward to meeting your little Noah.

Thanks Chris, and Wes.

Well I didn't just mean, upside down in a totally negative way, I figure the odd hours and time commitment, coupled with the radically good things could be pretty revolutionary.

Odd hours though -- who am I kidding? This will be a piece of cake. ;-)

You are right. Your lives as a couple and as Ashlee and Nick will never be the same, but it will be the most amazing evolution of yourselves you will ever experience, as it has been the almost 3 1/2 years and 2 girls later that it has been for us! The most amazing thing for me is to now, have a physical and emotional connection to even half of what God must feel for me as his child. Before, I knew it but now, I truly EXPERIENCE it as I know what I feel for the children He has so graciously allowed Joshua and I to raise and love on for this time on earth. To think that God loves even more than I could begin to love Jovey and Laney is wild and wonderful.

You and Ashlee are embarking on an awesome and crazy new way of seeing and loving our great God! Blessings!
