Excerpt from Vince's report from their meeting:
People were totally into it. They loved the music. You could have heard a pin drop during the sermon. (Actually right towards the beginning of the message two guys were talking at the bar and one said, pretty loudly, to the other, "Bullsh*t!" - which is something I'm not used to hearing while I'm preaching. The cool thing is that several people around him, including the owner, were like, "Sshhhhh," "Shut up!")

I wonder how many years the sum would be if Forefront asked each person in the bar that night how long it had been since they had listened to a sermon from God's word and added them together. It might be larger than several months for many congregations, even in large churches!

Several Roman Catholic Dioceses in the U.S. host a speaker series, Theology on Tap, for young adults in their 20s and 30s in local bars. It is an opportunity for young adults to come together gain additional insight into the Catholic Church and meet other young adults in the area.
The Lexington Diocese currently hosts, Theology on Tap, at O'Neils Irish Pub. There is a Winter and Summer series, usually with a theme tying the 6 consecutive week speakers together.
The first couple times that I attended, it definitely was weird to be learning about faith in a bar, but at the same time, it is a good way to bring young adults together in a setting that is more social but also helps develop one's faith.
I think a lot of people are using the "Theology on Tap" theme name.
In the Catholic world it's not nearly so controversial as it would be for a First Baptist to move a service to a pub!
