Ashlee tells our engagement story in this post on her blog. I find it funny to see how different our posts are. Mine was concise with pictures, and she told all of the details that most people want to know when they ask you about it.

Congrats, Nick! I just happend to stop by your site today and saw the exciting news. I was thinking about you this week because my boyfriend is wondering about the Masters for CS at UK and I was going to ask if you know anything about it.
alex,
I don't know a great deal about computer science in the graduate school at UK. I guess I'd know some of the professors that he would deal with perhaps.
is he interested in a certain area? his name is doug right?
thanks for the word of congratulations.
my lady doesn't blog, so i had to be the creative writer of proposals. props all around!
That's cool man. I read your proposal. I had asked my brother to give the roses to random people individually, so that they could bring them and give them to Ashlee after the proposal. However, apparently it was too cold outside and not many people were milling around. So that part didn't pan out exactly as planned.
But she said yes. :-)
Funny because it was a reversal for ELizabeth and I when we posted our stuff for my brother's website. Mine was long and detailed where as Elizabeth's was concise and to the point. That is what makes life so interesting. Thanks for the dinner visit this week. We'll make it up there to LEX sometime since you and Jeremy have been down here the past few times for various events. When Shane and Shane coming again?
